Socks, ghosts, and links, oh my!
For a while, I was working on my current SOS08 pair, Big Basin (from Six Sox Knitalong). This is the first time I’m using a wool-tencel blend Continue reading »

That pretty much sums up how I’ve been feeling lately. I swatch, swatch, swatch, nothing comes out of it. I still have one more secret knitting commitment that hasn’t started yet. I haven’t allowed myself to start any new, exciting, larger-scale projects because of this, which means things around here are boring and/or unsettled. I can’t even figure out a nice, simple project that I can work on tomorrow during the pre-Harlot meetup and Harlot Event. Suggestions?
At least, I have the latest Harmony sock club (link in sidebar) yarn to show you all. Continue reading »

Progress has slowed a bit on the Logan River Wrap, but I did finish the 25th repeat last night. I’m using the last ball of yarn right now, and I’m not sure I will have enough for all 29 repeats and the upper border. I’ll probably put in a lifeline at the end of the 28th repeat and see how it goes. I was going to show you all the lower border, but I forgot to take a picture, whoops!
Here’s some pretty yarn for you! This is the January shipment from the Harmony club (link in sidebar). Continue reading »

Last year, I half-heartedly said I would knit from stash. I did OK with this, but I also added too much to stash. Looking through my archives, there’s a definite pattern: most of the shopping happened during November and December. Is it a pathological need to stock up on woolly goods in preparation for the cold winter?
Anyway! I’ve decided to come up with a “yarn regimen” in part inspired by Knittymama’s Ten Project Challenge. To keep a lid on the impulse shopping, I’ll keep a list of yarns, colorways, or other items to purchase. That way, I’ll have some kind of guidelines in hand when I can shop.
But before I go into details about the yarn regimen, I want to outline some personal knitting goals I would like to accomplish this year. Continue reading »

Congratulations to trek who left comment number 2,000! She chose the Amazon.com gift certificate. Many, many thanks to all of you for making blogging fun!
Ahem. I’m afraid I haven’t completely caught up with all the yarn I’ve acquired lately. Here’s a few more things…
The new Blue Moon Fiber Arts’ Raven Series was too much for me to resist, but I did limit myself by ordering only two things. It took a long time to pick out Ravenscroft, a gorgeous green-black. Continue reading »
