What’s in a color? (Contest #4)
I’ve decided it’s time for a contest! (All the pictures in this post can be clicked to view a bigger copy.)
I recently completed a pair of socks with Trekking XXL in a lovely colorway, “76.” Well, I say that number leaves something to be desired. If a color number doesn’t have a corresponding name, then I usually come up with my own. But this time, I’ve decided to offer up a prize and see your suggestions. :)

At long last!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes last week. I’m mostly over my cold now. Strangely, it was mild (as in I didn’t need much medicine), but also was lingering and annoying. I was very glad to finally get a good night’s sleep!
I managed to finish three garter squares for Warm Up America, but I didn’t feel well enough for the MOA and Knit-Out, so I’ve mailed them directly to the organization. No pictures of the squares; they were knit with Bernat Softee doubled, left over from this blanket (scroll down a little bit).
Once the squares were finished, I eagerly returned to the Fluted Banister socks, because the toes were all that was left to knit.
Supply & Demand > Time
Congratulations to Stariel! She was the 500th commenter here. I gave her the choice of a gift certificate to Amazon or The Loopy Ewe, and she chose the latter. Enjoy! Thank you very much to everyone who left comments on this milestone or the pretty dishcloth set. :)
This week, another pair of my handknit socks bit the dust. I was a bit bummed about it,
Frankly, it’s not a UFO
I’ve been working on several projects using worsted weight yarn (more about these next week) and I started to get tired of the sameness in gauge. My solution was to pick up my abandoned Fluted Banister socks from last September.
They looked like this when we last saw them, one leg and the second cuff just completed.
Slowly Catching Up
I uploaded these pictures but hadn’t gotten around to blogging about them, so here you go.
Newest additions to my Yarn Family
(About this time now, I’m on a plane on my way to Chicago for Stitches Midwest!)
In June, Dave had a contest, Two Duhs, and I won! The yarny prize arrived last month but I haven’t been able to blog about it until now.
July Secret Pal Goodies, Part I
Great, big apologies for being so late in posting abot my latest packages from Atlantis (1SSP) and SP8, both, who sent wonderful packages last month. Below is what I received from Atlantis, and Part II will detail the latest SP8 package. : )
