Knitter’s Virtual Vacation Swap Questionnaire
Bonjour swap pal! Feel free to leave a comment or email if anything here isn’t clear. Looking forward to a fun swap. : )
1. If you could visit any state in the US, which would it be and why?
Hufflepuff Progress
I’ve finished both cuffs/legs of the sock for my pal in the Hogwarts Sock Swap. Today is Show and Tell Friday, and we get House Points if we blog about our socks-in-progress for our pals. Go Gryffindor! One more quick thing, Rebecca plans to host a Hogwarts Sock Swap TWO later this year (Aug 1-Oct 31); if you missed the deadline for the first one, you have another chance! Signups will open July 14.
Back to my Hogwarts socks… remember the snafu with the dyelots? Even though I’m using the same stitch count and needle size, the difference is obvious between the two skeins of Lorna’s Laces Bee Stripe.
Knit Me the Blues
The yarn from All Things Heather’s fundraiser finally reached my mailbox and it’s gorgeous!
Hogwarts, we have a problem
This is Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in Bee Stripe from a kit. Actually, there are a couple problems with it…

In other news, this blog is approaching another milestone. In a week or two (that’s my estimate), someone will post the 1000th comment. That lucky person will receive a $15 gift certificate!
Happy KMKS!
The long wait is over! My kit from the Knit Mitt Kit Swap arrived last week! I had all but forgotten about it and was awaiting delivery of some shoes I’d ordered. When I saw the box, I thought, “Shoes!” and ripped it open only to find tissue paper and softness underneath. I tried to remember what I had ordered, then as I lifted the tissue paper and saw the bag underneath, “Oh! KMKS!” My kit came from Lauren of Knitting in the Desert.
At long last!
Thanks everyone for the well wishes last week. I’m mostly over my cold now. Strangely, it was mild (as in I didn’t need much medicine), but also was lingering and annoying. I was very glad to finally get a good night’s sleep!
I managed to finish three garter squares for Warm Up America, but I didn’t feel well enough for the MOA and Knit-Out, so I’ve mailed them directly to the organization. No pictures of the squares; they were knit with Bernat Softee doubled, left over from this blanket (scroll down a little bit).
Once the squares were finished, I eagerly returned to the Fluted Banister socks, because the toes were all that was left to knit.
