Relax!
Many thanks to everyone who left encouraging comments regarding my worries about the Logan River Wrap. I took Opal’s advice, “block the living hell out of it,” to heart and did exactly that.
The result? See for yourself. more »
Multiplicity
I managed to squeeze in some time to knit a few hats for k3tog’s Preemie Hat drive.
My goal was to knit as many hats as I could get out of a 68-gram leftover ball of Bernat Softee Baby. So how many hats was I able to get from that 68 grams?
Veni, vidi, vici
Remember these terrible, horrible, no good, very bad socks? I was tired of them hanging around, unfinished and making this knitter all kinds of unhappy.
No more!
Goldilocks
When I started putting away the few colors of left over Wool-Ease I had pulled from stash for the Gansey Watch Cap, it occurred to me that I could make my own marled yarn by mixing and holding different color strands together as one yarn.
But what to make? Hats! I needed to add a couple more to my packet for Cornerstone.
Rationing
Last year, I half-heartedly said I would knit from stash. I did OK with this, but I also added too much to stash. Looking through my archives, there’s a definite pattern: most of the shopping happened during November and December. Is it a pathological need to stock up on woolly goods in preparation for the cold winter?
Anyway! I’ve decided to come up with a “yarn regimen” in part inspired by Knittymama’s Ten Project Challenge. To keep a lid on the impulse shopping, I’ll keep a list of yarns, colorways, or other items to purchase. That way, I’ll have some kind of guidelines in hand when I can shop.
But before I go into details about the yarn regimen, I want to outline some personal knitting goals I would like to accomplish this year. more »
