Happy KMKS!
The long wait is over! My kit from the Knit Mitt Kit Swap arrived last week! I had all but forgotten about it and was awaiting delivery of some shoes I’d ordered. When I saw the box, I thought, “Shoes!” and ripped it open only to find tissue paper and softness underneath. I tried to remember what I had ordered, then as I lifted the tissue paper and saw the bag underneath, “Oh! KMKS!” My kit came from Lauren of Knitting in the Desert.

I finished upgrading WordPress this past weekend. I think everything works as it should. Do let me know if anything seems wonky. Thanks!
And now, may I present to you the not-quite-matching Mermaid Socks.

Lily has just announced Sugar ‘n Cream Twists, a marl/ragg version of their cotton. The color selection is small but respectable; I’ll have to keep an eye out for them around here.
I’ve been working on the Fluted Banister socks every time I go mall-walking. I can finish 1-2 inches in a hour, so it takes a while to knit both insteps. As of this weekend, I’ve started the second instep. It’s all stockinette, so I won’t bore you with pictures.
Some of you guessed correctly that my new socks in progress are the Mermaid Socks from Lucy Neatby’s Cool Socks, Warm Feet. The effect the Estonian Fishtail stitch pattern has on the self-striping yarn was a lucky bonus.
