Potholder Mania

Back in May, it was potholders and hotpads all the time, as I worked feverishly to finish the set of five I needed for this swap. Even though I dithered about it at first, I couldn’t resist joining Hot Pads! And Potholders – The Swap. We had to crochet five potholders, and we could use any [...]

p align=”center”/p> Needing to recover after a large project earlier this month I was looking for something fun and quick to knit when I found out my parents’ neighbor had a new baby. Perfect! A couple of little gifts would do the trick.

I tried to knit myself some socks. I really tried. All I can offer as evidence is this slightly blurry photo of stockinette.

p align=”center” The problem? I hated the short-row heels I used. They were too small.

Potholders
Posted by limedragon | Filed under knitting
By chance, I found out that Metro Meals on Wheels were asking for donations of handmade (knit, crochet, or sew) potholders. They would be used by drivers or given to clients. They are looking to collect 800 by this coming holiday season (deadline Dec 5), but have an ongoing goal of 8,000. Look for the [...]

Ravelympics 2008: FO #2
Posted by limedragon | Filed under general, knitting, socks
I was really suprprised at how quickly I was able to knit these. It took only 6 days (I took one day off to seam and finish the Loon sweater). Considering that these are my first ever pair of stranded colorwork socks, I’m very happy with them.

Ravelympics 2008: FO #1

Whew, I finished my first project for the Ravelympics on Monday! :) I’m really happy with the results. It wasn’t a difficult pattern, but was time-consuming. With this, I earned medals in Sweater Sprint and Colorwork Cross-Country.

(Many thanks for everyone’s kind comments about the bunny pullover. I’ve been so focused on my Olympic knitting that email, blog-reading, and the like have fallen by the wayside, sorry!)
The Ravelry is doing a fun knit/crochet/spin/dye/whatever-along during the 2008 Olympics, with over 5500 members participating. I signed up with two projects and two teams: The [...]
