Ravelympics 2008: FO #1

20.Aug.08 ~ 10:32 am

Whew, I finished my first project for the Ravelympics on Monday! :) I’m really happy with the results. It wasn’t a difficult pattern, but was time-consuming. With this, I earned medals in Sweater Sprint and Colorwork Cross-Country. Continue reading »

Ravelympics 2008: Days 1-7

15.Aug.08 ~ 7:45 am

(Many thanks for everyone’s kind comments about the bunny pullover. I’ve been so focused on my Olympic knitting that email, blog-reading, and the like have fallen by the wayside, sorry!)

The Ravelry is doing a fun knit/crochet/spin/dye/whatever-along during the 2008 Olympics, with over 5500 members participating. I signed up with two projects and two teams: The Loon for Team Editors and Anise Socks for Team Stashdown. Continue reading »

Hat Hat

22.Jan.07 ~ 8:07 am

I’ve been knitting a lot with stash lately. It’s apparent from looking at past projects and my stash that, albeit my love for color, I do have a fondness for black and gray. These are my favored neutral colors—when I can’t make a color decision (”Oooh, purple! Oooh, red!”), I usually end up with something in these shades. It was also a pleasure to rediscover Lamb’s Pride Worsted, which knits up into a soft and warm fabric.

Small Items

30.Dec.06 ~ 7:52 am

Have you ever misplaced a needle, only to find it in the laundry a few days later?

Behind

16.Jul.06 ~ 7:26 pm

I’m really behind right now. I owe zillions of emails. I have lots of photos to transfer and crop. My SYAC swap pal received her socks, yay! I was surprised last week by two wonderful packages in the mail, one from my SP8 and the other from Atlantis (1SSP), wowee! I will blog about these things as soon as I can. (Cross your fingers my work schedule calms down a bit Tuesday or Wednesday this week). I’ve also managed to finish my first stranded color project and am now making some child-size socks with the leftover wool for CIC as part of a SixSoxKAL challenge.

Yeah… no pictures at all, sorry. This week, I hope.

Making Progress!

19.May.06 ~ 2:10 pm

Thanks again for the compliments about my recently completed Madder Ribbed socks. I appreciated them and enjoyed these socks very much (even though I had to rip them out and restart)… the patterning is simple yet entertaining and attractive. Continue reading »

Madder Ribbed Socks

16.May.06 ~ 5:36 pm
Ta da, here are a couple pictures of my most recently completed pair. These will be a gift later this year. So I first tried them on for an “action” shot before washing.
