Bohus Love

How exciting! The much anticipated Opening Weekend of the American Swedish Institute’s Radiant Knits exhibit finally arrived! I didn’t go to the opening reception/presentation (read about it here), the Knit Out on Saturday (Twin Set Ellen has a post about it), and Mary Jo Burke of Stagecoach Yarn’s presentation on Sunday (again Twin Set Ellen [...]

The battle may be lost, but the war is not over

I tried to knit myself some socks. I really tried. All I can offer as evidence is this slightly blurry photo of stockinette.

Winner! (Contest #6)

It’s really cold here. Dangerously cold. But not as cold as the record-breaking winter of 1996. (When, as I recall, I layered a wool lumberjack coat over my regular coat to help withstand the low temperatures while waiting for the bus.)

2009: Planning

I recently upgraded WordPress on this blog and decided a makeover was in order. It took several tries (I hoped to find a magazine style layout that worked to my liking, but no luck), and I really like the new look. Fresh and simple at the same time. I hope you all like it too. [...]

Dad’s Cardigan

Here’s another gift for Dad, a cozy cardigan. I really liked the texture motif that continued from the cuff up the sleeve and saddle. It’s technically a jacket, and is knit with bulky yarn, so it was relatively quick to knit.
