Sister Scarves

Here’s pair of recent FOs I think I’m safe to show you all. :) (Note to S-Let me know if you want this post hidden until after the holidays!) These little scarves were made for S to give as gifts later this month.
We went to 3 Kittens last month and liked the little neck warmer samples they had on display. The knitted version uses only one skein of bulky baby alpaca yarn, so S picked out two colors that the recipients would like.
The buttons I used were purchased at Jo-Ann during the Black Friday sales (they were 50% off). The yarn was wonderful to knit with, but fuzzy! The Misti shedded a little bit and the Plymouth had bits of fuzz in it that I picked out now and then.
I was a bit worried that the white buttons would be too simple for the pink version, but in the end I liked them best of several options I tried. The glossy translucence picks up the pink color nicely. I tried to make the wood buttons on the green version match each other, but they kept turning into smart quotes! :)
I’m awfully tempted to make another one for myself! It’s nice looking to wear and feels warm and cozy!

They do look cozy! Hmm, I have a Pidge variant knitted – the Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk is too prickly for my neck, but I bet it would make a great gift…
