The NeverEnding Stash

(No updates yet for my dad and cousin. Thanks everyone!!)
I have been using up the last of the Lamb’s Pride Worsted that I originally purchased for the Monk’s Travel Satchel back in 2004. So far I’ve used this yarn for the bag, a striped hat, the Ryan hat, and finally this child-size Andean Cap.
The color scheme was chosen by virtue of quantity. I would’ve preferred to use the lighter gray on the larger motifs, but I’m OK with how it looks. Besides, this was a fun knit, and that’s what counts!
I was so relieved to be close to the end that I completely forgot I was supposed to crochet a picot/scallop edging, and did a plain sc, whoops! The cast-on edges are quite loose and curling (it was my first time using the chain cast-on (similar to the knit cast-on, but the loop is twisted before putting it on the needle) and I didn’t realize the tension would be so loose). Blocking helped only a little bit; hopefully it is something time and wear will take care of eventually.
Guess what? I still have stash left! I think it’s enough for another hat. Hmmm….. (And now, I want to rent and watch The NeverEnding Story.)

What you don’t realize is that yarn gnomes are sneaking into your stash in the middle of the night and actually leaving more yarn in those color behind.

Very cute, and that’s a great colour combo!
Yarn gnomes, eh? Hmm … that explains Quite A Few Things. :-)

Cute! I picture you knitting smaller and smaller projects with that yarn, until you’re knitting the final bits until something so small we can’t even see it. ;)

Hi Harriet,
I was at work last night and saw your pattern in the new Interweave Felt issue. Congratulation! That is really exciting. Will you be coming to our Mason-Dixon event on the 12th?
