Stripes
Posted by limedragon | Filed under knitting, socks
In case it isn’t obvious from my blog theme, I love the color combination of purple and green. I have two skeins of Opal Prisma, one in each color - 1192 (green) and 1195 (purple). I’ve come up with several ways to use the two colors in socks. There’s a poll at the end of this post; please cast your vote and let me know which option you think I should choose. I don’t know when I will actually start these socks, it could be next week or next year.
The options I’ve come up with include:
Standard socks
Everyday variety, two pairs total, one pair each color.
One sock each color
Imagine crazy long socks à la Pippi Longstockings, one green, one purple.
One pair with matching stripes
Potentially cute.
One pair, with mirrored color stripes
Even cuter than above.
Contrast
Use one color as the MC (imagine the purple area as purple stripes and so on), and the cuff, toes, and heels would be the other color (shown in green).
Contrast and mirror
Similar to above, but switch the MC and CC around on the second sock.
So… which do you like best? Have other ideas/suggestions? Please leave a comment. The poll will end at midnight April 27. Thanks!

I will be thoroughly impressed if you can get the stripes go across the foot like that! ;P

Check out the new pattern on Sock Madness 2 - the last pattern we used laceweight yarn held two strands together and rotated them for a striped look - totally awesome.

Looking forward to seeing how they turn out, whichever pattern you decide on, whenever you get to knitting them :o)
