Zeebee Quick
Finally! Here’s some knitting content. : )
I had some free time earlier this week and wanted to work on something quick and satisfying. A quick poke in my stash brought forth a skein of Colinette Point 5 that Blog-free Nicole (thank you!) sent me two summers ago (after the One Skein Secret Pal swap).
It’s great yarn, very colorful with a thick-thin texture. The challenge was finding something that would not only complement the yarn but also require just one skein. Fortunately I remembered that I’ve had Zeebee at the top of my Ravelry queue for ages.
Perfect! After a quick swatch, I decided to use a US 10 needle which gave me a nice, firm fabric that compensated quite well for any thin spots. I also incorporated a chain selvedge on the brim edge for a neater finish.
I’m very pleased with how the colors blended and striped on this hat. The effect is rather painterly.
Sadly, I ran out of yarn one row before finishing. Happily, I had a leftover skein of Berroco Duo that, while not thick-thin, had nearly identical gauge and coloring. Can you see where the yarn change occurred in any of the pictures above? I can’t!

I can’t, either! That is a gorgeous, gorgeous hat. I absolutely love it!
It looks great! Can’t see at ALL where the duo is. (can’t get my name in the comment field here….). Ah, tried it, got rejected, and now I can, go figure!
Wow! I seriously love it… and I can’t tell either.
What a perfect match between the yarns! And what an adorable hat!
Totally can’t tell! Great colours.
I can’t see the changes either. Very cool hat you have there.
What a wonderful hat! I agree with everyone else….I can’t see the different yarn. It was meant to be.
Lovely hat!
Very cute! I’ve got a skein of that around somewhere, I should use it up.
