Explosion

12.Dec.07 ~ 7:13 am

If you paid attention to the title of my previous post, you might guess what this post will be about…

Yep. More stash enhancement.

Last month (or was it late October?) the LYSO of Clickity Sticks, Yarn & Such decided to quit business. My mom and I were in the neighborhood, so we stopped by the closing sale. I didn’t leave empty-handed.

Some colorful Cascade Luna:

Mom asked me to make mittens for her with this Misti Silk/Cotton.

In the worsted wool section, it took me a while to choose these three colors.

And I also picked up these three light-colored skeins to use for swatches next year.

There was a decent selection of the newer Crystal Palace Yarns, including Maizy. I look forward to trying it as it will be my first yarn with corn fiber (these will become socks for Mom).

And I’ve long wanted some Panda Wool in Periwinkle, a perfect purple, for myself.

There also were a few baskets of older sock yarns, mostly orphaned colors (no matching dyelots), but I lucked out in this pair.

The weekend after Thanksgiving, I stopped in Jo-Ann to see if they had dark gray Patons Classic Merino Wool. (It was on sale for $2 all weekend, what a deal!) The Midway location didn’t have much of a color selection, but since it was such a good price, I picked up a couple more light-colored skeins to save for next year.

The Wool-Ease was also on sale the day I visited the store, and I couldn’t resist this combination of deep green and cream.

The burgundy in this bulky Wool-Ease will be perfect for An Unoriginal Hat.

Now my storage boxes are getting quite full!

if you still need the dark grey, I grabbed a skein of it forgetting that I had enough leftovers in the stash.

and now I wish I’d made it to Clickity - you got some great stuff there!

I started knitting with the Maizy last week. It splits a bit but otherwise is a nice yarn. I think you’ll enjoy knitting with it.
