Colorless

Thank you to everyone who left kind and encouraging comments on my previous post. They were not only appreciated but also cheered me up. : )
As promised, I have pictures of my recently completed socks. They were a test knit for Schrödinger, so I cannot share the details at this time. Another post with specs has been written and will go live as soon as she publishes the pattern.
This photograph gives an idea of what the socks look like. They have a great texture that works very well with subtly variegated yarn. The photograph is horrible and overexposed. Nevertheless I liked the angle and thought I would try and experiment a bit with the photo itself.
The blue in this tweaked version is better; it matches the blue present in the horizon of the Mediterranean or Caribbean Seas. But it is in no way an accurate representation of the yarn.
I rather like this version best. With the color stripped away, the attention goes to the texture itself. What do you think?

I definitely like the more saturated blue because it shows the texture bit better that the light blue. And solid color also works to show off the texture too. But the saturated blue is my winner. Ahh about the photo, it is not horrible. It has curves (or design will say it has lines).

It’s funny how when you remove the color, the texture just pops out. Very nice pattern, I can’t wait to hear the details.

I love both the photos, nice tease :) I’m almost (yes, almost) sad that I’m away on vacation, so I can’t get the pattern up for everyone.

I was drawn to the texture from the very first photo. That looks great. I can’t wait to see this pattern go live.

I’m a sucker for texture, so the black & white ones look loveliest to me.

The socks look really cool! I also love the texture, and it definitely showed up best in the B&W. I look forward to seeing more of them! Hope you have a great rest of the week.
