Tag-teamed!
Back in February, I was tagged by Mega(k)nits for the “5 Things Previously Unrevealed” meme. In the same month, Nicole also tagged me for the “I’m not perfect” meme. Last month, Lisa tagged me for the “7/8 Random Things” meme that was making the rounds around blogland.
It took a while for me to get a post written up, and I decided to combine all these things in today’s post. I won’t tag anyone, but if any of these memes interest you, feel free to play along!
- I was on the swim team in high school. (Loved it.)
- Even though I am allergic, there’s always been a cat (or two) in my life.
- For several years during my mid-twenties, I dyed my hair black.
- I tried wearing contacts but did not like them because I think I look better with glasses.
- I can trace some ancestors in my family. My maternal great-great-grandmother (I hope I have that right!) immigrated with her family from Italy in the late 1800s. My paternal family tree goes all the way back to a German immigrant who settled in New Jersey early/mid-1600s.
- I went to a women’s college.
- I bit a classmate’s finger in kindergarten. Years later, in high school, we were best friends.
- Today is my birthday.

Who’s perfect?!
I love organization (as evidenced by my previous post)! But I have some weak areas that are easily overtaken by clutter. You will notice that I took these pictures back in February!
My desk is tiny, tiny and almost always has clutter. (I found it at an estate sale for $25.)
For a while I was keeping leftovers and miscellaneous skeins here. These candle holders are the porcelain ones from Ikea. (Their original purpose? Fuse covers.)
My messiest bookshelf, where I put books to be read or new magazine issues that need to be sorted.

And, as far as the clutter goes, at least you’ve got it constrained to a few areas (and you’re much cleaner than me)! A friend of mine was a packrat (OCD, seriously), and believe me, that is not pretty (or healthy - scarred me for life). Before that, I thought I knew clutter - nope!

I am just waiting for your socks to dry and then they are off to you! I have a question regarding your allergy. I know I shouldn’t send anything with peanuts in it but should I also watch for those things that say on the box that they were manufactured in a plant that processes peanuts, too? I don’t want to assume anything (you are the first person I’ve known with this allergy). Without giving away too much, I want to sent you something that says that on the package but I don’t think you will actually eat it–its more for fun–but I wanted to ask.
