Mom’s Scarf
It’s finished! Yay! I ended up ordering one more skein of Crystal Palace Yarns “Party” online and it arrived a couple weeks ago. It was enough for me to be able to finish the scarf. And just in time for Mother’s Day!
There isn’t much to report; it’s a simple sideways garter stitch scarf. The length is comprised of 150 stitches. I started with 5 rows of the Party ribbon, then 2 with the Sinsation. I continued in a similar manner; the center sections use 8 rows in Party alternated with 2 rows Sinsation. Another 5 rows with Party completed the scarf.
The Sinsation was, well, sinful. It’s ultra shiny, smooth, and sleek to the touch. I felt as if I were knitting with a string of fur. The only downside I found was that the loops got pulled out very easily.
The textures almost remind me of tuxedo jackets from the ’70s (satin and velvet). I worried that the scarf would turn out to be too kitschy or cheesy. Fortunately, I think the overall effect is just right. I gifted it to Mom yesterday and she was very happy with it. Mission accomplished!

It sounds absolutely scrumptious!!
I think the lovely color makes it look quite elegant.
Are you feeling more enthusiastic now that you have an FO?
You must have one happy Mom! :)
Very snazzy. Glad mom approved.
personally, I like the photo because it shows hue and texture. But OMG, it looks so shiny and smooth. The color range is just beautiful.
What can I say? It looks absolutely gorgeous for the eyes and the touch.
