Perpetually Behind

That’s the story of my life in two words. I’m sure it happens to everyone now and then. I feel like this, oh, about 80% of the time.

During breaks from the Yarrow Ribbed socks, I resumed the Cropped Cardigan project. I feel so bad for neglecting it (and for far longer than I intended). It should have been gifted last summer, but it will have to happen this summer instead. This picture was taken last week before I started the second set of increases.

I’ve been knitting a little bit on these sleeves every day since then and am making fair progress. They are now about 13 inches long. I sneakily measured a sweatshirt owned by the giftee and all the measurements so far are spot on. However, I’m concerned they won’t be wide enough at the shoulder.

Another nagging worry is the yarn. I can’t believe how much yarn this thing has eaten up. I now have 2 skeins left out of 20. Of course, a large reason for this problem was the zillion knots I found in one of the two bags of yarn. Sheesh. I’m so glad I knit in the ends as I went, otherwise, I think the weaving-in would have taken as long as the knitting itself. :)

Once the sleeves started to become tedious, I decided to cast on a new project. I spied the Patons SWS sent to me by Heidi (SockVirgin in Sock Wars), and wondered if a certain pattern I had in mind would work for it.

Oops, lets try that again.

I like it so far. Do you recognize what it is?

Here’s a hint… these diamonds are formed by short-rows, not entrelac.

diamond short-row hat? :)

No clue what the pattern is, but I like the look! Heh, you have “blob” problems with your photos, too…

I’m with Chris, I have no clue what the pattern is, but it looks great! As for the cropped cardigan, in addition to sleeves being boring I think the knots would have had me tossing the project in a neglected bag for time out too!

I don’t know the pattern either, but I’m eagar to find out.

I’m loving the way the mystery project is looking. Can’t wait to hear what the pattern is!

Wow. The sleeves are very textured. very pretty. Hm… I’m thinking the short row is for the Short Row hat from IK.
