February Progress

First, some excellent news! The Mermaid socks are finished! And I had just enough yarn to finish both toes (whew)! I’ll get pictures soon.

Now, I had a short to-do list for January. Let’s see how I did.

  1. Zebra socks Done!
  2. Red scarf (or two?) Done! I have pictures, but haven’t posted them yet.
  3. Birthday gift for Mom Stalled! I ran out of the black Party ribbon. Since I got the yarn at the 3 Kitten sale, I don’t think they have it in stock anymore (if I’m wrong, please let me know). It’s too cold to go anywhere so I haven’t stopped by Borealis Yarn to see if they have black in stock.
  4. Resume a UFO I’m about 3/4 finished with the Fluted Banister socks.

I also knit a lot from stash in January: 3 hats, 3 washcloths, and more. So I’m really happy with my progress so far, and want to keep going.

February Goals:

  1. Finish Fluted Banister Socks
  2. Warm up America squares for drop-off at Knit Out
  3. Start a pair of gift socks
  4. Get yarn to finish Mom’s gift
  5. Resume the Cropped Cardigan

Even though I was able to subtract a few things from my stash tally, I still had to add in a quite a lot. In addition to the colorful cotton DK that arrived in early January, I also included the yardage for the entire year of the Rockin’ Sock Club. That way, I won’t have to worry about doing that every time a new shipment comes. So it doesn’t look like I’ve made any progress yet, but I knew it would be a slow start.

Stash details as of Feb 1, 2007

Total Yardage:
70,302 (40 miles or 64,284 m) +3,539
Sockage:
69 pairs, or 37% of stash
+8

(Already I can subtract a pair from that sock count, due to the completed Mermaids!)

During the next few days, I don’t plan on posting because I want to upgrade WordPress and do some blog maintenance I’ve been putting off. Enjoy the weekend!

I’m looking forward to seeing those finished socks! Have a good weekend. :) Stay warm!

Great progress. Good for you.

3 kitten? Isn’t that in MN somewhere? If it is isn’t it worrying that I know that??

I’m looking forward to seeing the finished mermaids. Oh, and …40 MILES of sock yarn??

wow you are my hero.. i am also trying to finish all my wips. nice for you to knit a gift for your mom. i found this gift knitting is a bit intimidated, even the knitters can underestimate the time we put in and it is always hard to choose the right color. .at least for me.. yay for your gifts and fos and goals :)

Can’t wait to see them! You sound so on top of things!

Yay Rah for you! I’m keeping my sock stash on an Xcel sheet, and even though I’ve just finished off another pair which gets me up to 1.02 miles for the year - it doesn’t seem to get any smaller. I think the cold makes me yearn for pretty yarn. Your Feb list seems “do-able”.
(I’m in the STR club too.)

40 miles of sock yarn!? *jaw hits the floor*

You’ve got some great goals.

I wish I had half of your resolve and dedication to a ‘to-do’ knitting list. So far I’m averaging one finished thing a month - maybe it’s post-holiday burnout. Maybe March will be my ‘back in gear’ month. :)

Great job on the January list! I had a big February list but I’m still waiting on a few supplies. It may become my March list.
