A chicken among the tulips

The MOA, as part of the ongoing Park in Bloom event series, held a “Largest Indoor Tulip Show” last month, January 19-27. I don’t know if it really is the largest indoor tulip show, but there were lots of tulips, and I gave Mom my camera to take pictures as we walked around the mall. Even though this show is over, the tulips remained and they will be replaced with new flowers for the upcoming “Heart of the Park” event starting on Friday.
One nice thing about these events is that local artists can display their artwork (for sale, too), so you’ll spot a few in the pictures. With our latest freezing temperatures, I thought a little hint of spring would be good. And tulips have always been one of my favorite flowers, especially white ones.
“Wait, what about that chicken you mentioned?” Well, on the day we took these pictures, it was also the Roll and Stroll for Fraser. There were lots of exhibits, mascots, and activities. I recognized the shark from the Underwater Adventures Aquarium, and I swear Count Chocula was also present, but I only saw him from behind, so I can’t be sure. The other mascots were all cute animals and surrounded by kids. But I did manage to get a chicken to hold my sock-in-progress for a Yarn Harlot moment.
I do wish the picture weren’t blurry. :)

Great pictures! Now I want to visit the MOA. Though maybe not when the forecasted high is only 10 degrees. I saw that on the weather channel this morning and I thought, “Poor Harriet!”

Nice chicken and the sock shot, even if it is blurry. Funny.

You sure that’s a chicken? Looks like the coocoo for Coco Puffs character to me. Nice sock shot anyway! LOL
