It’s cold!

Thanks again to everyone who left comments about my Dad. I’m glad to report he’s well on the way to recovery, and was able to spend Thanksgiving at home.

It’s been busy, busy. We’ve been shopping, working, solving jigsaw puzzles, baking and cooking, eating, and knitting. (Okay, that last one was just me!) Here’s a picture from when Grandma and I baked some of my favorite Pumpkin cookies.

We use this recipe, but substitute white chocolate chips for the semisweet. It was the second time we used this recipe, and the first time we included walnuts. We put in one cup and it was nowhere enough. Next time, we’ll have to try 2-3 cups, and see how it turns out. We also used organic canned pumpkin, and the flavor was very mild.

During the last part of November, it was quite warm here, upwards to 50 on some days. That pretty much changed overnight once December arrived… we missed out (happily, or unhappily, depending on your preference) on the snowstorms passing south of here. It’s suddenly very, very cold here, usually about 10-15F, even with bright sunshine. The kind of cold that makes it tough to get out of bed.

I’ve taken a bunch of photos and am in the process of getting them organized for uploading and posts. I need to get used to blogging again!

Glad to hear your dad is recovering. You were missing so long I was beginning to fear the worst! But, I guess pumpkin cookies aren’t too shabby!

Yeah – this cold weather makes it VERY hard to get out of bed…our dog of course loves it and is currently hanging out on the deck, very happily.

Yup… it’s this time of year that I actually appreciate a small bedroom… it’s easier to heat! :-D

So happy to hear about your dad!! I hope he gets back full health very soon!

Those cookies look yummy. I’m hungry…

Sounds like things are looking up! The list of things you have been doing sound just right for recovering from the emergency with your dad etc. I wish I could take the rest of the month off before Christmas and do what you’ve been doing! Great news about your dad. Hope he is continuing to do well.
