Knit Mitt Kit Swap Questionnaire

Hi KMKS partner! I hope my answers are helpful.

What are your favorite colors? Purple! I love deep colors, either jewels or muted. Yellow is my least favorite color, a little bit as accent is fine. My all-time favorite color combination would be purple and green.

Are you a new mitt knitter? How long have you been knitting mittens? I don’t knit them on a regular basis. (Because I’ve been working on socks, and more socks!) I have made a pair of two-needle mittens and three sets of fingerless mitts/handwarmers. I knit my first pair of mittens in Fall-Winter 2003 a few months after I learned to knit.
Do you prefer solid or multicolored yarn? Either is fine.
What fibers do you prefer in mitten yarn? Wool, probably; the softer and smoother, the better.
Where do you usually knit mittens? In front of the TV. Maybe while reading or traveling.
How do you usually carry/store small projects? I have various bags, ranging from small sock-project-sized bags to medium-sized bags.
What are your favorite mitten patterns? I don’t have a particular favorite yet. I have the book Favorite Mittens, which has great, classic patterns. I am also in love with Lucy Neatby’s “Paradoxical Mittens” pattern. Yum!
What are your favorite mitten knitting techniques? I don’t have a favorite; I like to try them all.
What new techniques would you like to try? Nordic/stranded two-color mittens; I need more practice!
What are your favorite needles for knitting mittens? Probably double-points. Though I also use the 2-mittens-2-circulars method. It depends on the pattern.
What are some of your favorite yarns? Rowan Wool-Cotton, BMFA Socks that Rock.
What yarn do you totally covet? Lisa Souza Sock!, Vesper, Scout’s Swag, Cabin Cove, Sweet Georgia….
Any pattern you would love to make if money and time were no object? See above, the Neatby Paradoxical Mittens. If it were a non-mitten project… one of those Hanne Falkenberg or Dale of Norway sweaters. : )
Favorite kind of needles (brand, materials, straights or circs, etc)? I’m willing to use/try any type. I use Inox and Clover most frequently.
If you were a specific kind of yarn, which brand and kind of yarn would you be? Oh… I want to say Socks that Rock. : ) For my answer to a similar question, see #1 here.
Do you have a favorite candy or mail-able snack? I like chocolates, especially with caramel, toffee, or mint. No peanuts in my candy/snacks, please. : )
What�s your favorite animal? Cats, big and small. I have two cats, Jester and Munchkin.
Would you prefer super warm mittens or something more like fingerless mitts? Either would be fine, the weather can get wicked cold, or the air-conditioning is set too cold.
If you were a color what color would you be? Mossy green.
What is your most inspiring image, flower, or object in nature? This question has was a toughie… I can’t think of anything specific, since I find most nature things beautiful or interesting. I would have to say bugs are the exception.
Do you have a wishlist? Yup. Here it is.
