Pink Quilts

The two current contests Sock Hunt and Dragon Hunt end tonight, so no more dilly-dallying, send in your entries asap! The winners will be announced on Sunday.

Mom and I found some interesting sights during our morning walk at MOA. People were setting up tables covered with pink tablecloths. A few even had sewing machines too. There were also several beautiful quilts on display, but we weren’t sure what the event was, since no signage had gone up yet.

Turns out it’s Quilt Pink Day! (Here’s the national website.) People can come to show support, donate blocks, or sew blocks, etc.

I had my Treo smartphone with me so I got a few pictures of the quilts. These quilts will be auctioned later in 2007 by BH&G American Patchwork & Quilting. They were all so much more gorgeous than these simple cameraphotos can show.

Since I started knitting, I’ve come to really love quilts and appreciate all the time that must go into making them. Love all the pictures!
