Knitflix Swap Questionnaire

Hi Meg! I look forward to getting to know you and having fun with this swap!
  1. What is your favorite film genre? I enjoy comedy, drama, sci-fi, and action/adventure. I’m not much for horror, especially gore, or comedies that are mean or targeted for the teenage boy/young male audience (eg: American Pie).
  2. List 3-5 of your favorite films and why you like them. I blogged a short list in this meme. To expand further… I love Star Wars because it’s the first non-animated move I remember. In case I fell asleep at the theater (I usually didn’t), I always asked to be woken up in time for the Death Star attack scene. Thrilling! I liked Blast from the Past, because it’s silly, impossible, and yet so funny. Christopher Walken and Sissy Spacek are so good. I put off watching A Beautiful Mind because I knew it would be serious… once I watched it, I was totally fascinated. I forgot Russell Crowe was Russell Crowe… it’s that good. I just rememberd another movie I really liked but didn’t put on that list… The Red Violin was wonderful. Even though I figured out the “secret” in the beginning, the stories of the violin and its owners over the years were fascinating and conveyed such a strong historical feel, I felt like all the people and events were real/true.
  3. Do you like foreign films? Sure. Lately I’ve been on a British drama kick. (Though technically not Foreign genre, I guess?) Would it annoy you to watch a film with subtitles if you are knitting/crafting? Nope. They’re required. : )
  4. Is there a movie that youíve always wanted to see but havenít? Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. Somehow I never got around to watching this. Another one is Sweet Home Alabama.
  5. Do you have any favorite actors? Johnny Depp, Luke Wilson, Dermot Mulroney, Joaquin Phoenix, Patrick Dempsey, Keanu Reeves… Reese Witherspoon, Drew Barrymore, Kyra Sedgwick, Bryce Dallas Howard (Oh! The Village is another movie I loved)…
  6. What kind of movie night treats do you like? Type of Candy? Popcorn? My favorite treat would be a Starbucks drink (hot or cold, depending on the season). I can easily curl up with my knitting to watch a movie, and sip my Starbucks drink for 2-3 hours! Popcorn, not so much. Candy, sure, I like chocolate, plain, with caramel, toffee, or mint. I can’t eat peanuts anymore.
  7. Are you a sock knitter, lace knitter, or hat/mitten/scarf knitter? Yes to all of them. This year, I’m primarily doing socks. :)
  8. What are your favorite fibers? I pretty much like them all. Loosely plied yarns like Lion Brand Microspun might annoy me if used for a large project. I also don’t really like knitting with railroad/laddered yarn.
  9. What fibers do you dislike or are allergic? I am rather sensitive to mohair… a little bit is okay, especially if it’s not worn next to the skin.
  10. What are your favorite colors? Purple! For more info, see #9 on my Secret Pal 8 Questionnaire.
  11. What colors do you not like? Yellow. But it’s OK if there’s a little bit as an accent.
  12. Is there anything else that your partner should know that will help her spoil you? In case the information wasn’t passed on when you got my swap info, I do need closed captions or subtitles on my movies. Usually a movie description will contain that info. If you need help with that, let me know. : )
