Knit ‘N’ Style #144 (August 2006)
Interesting! They’ve changed the magazine; better paper and layout. I like the changes. The models/photo layout haven’t really changed very much. One change I didn’t like (and I had to pull out an older issue to check/compare), the pattern instructions are now in the back instead of accompanying the project pictures. Why, oh why!?
Janelle Blouse (#3, pattern page 74) is a nice, delicate short-sleeved and scoop-necked pullover. There are embroidered flowers I wouldn’t include, but it could be a great summer top.
I like the shell from the Leaf Lace Twin Set (#17A & #17B, pattern page 94). I haven’t decided yet about the cardigan (short-sheelved). While it has an interestingly shaped collar, the leaf embellishments are only shown on one side, which seems a bit odd to me. This pattern is pictured in the background here.
I like both pieces of the Cables & Waves Set (#18A & #18B, pattern page 96), but I would think wearing these two items together would be very warm/heavy. The bolero would be great over a blouse, and the sweater (with long sleeves even!) on its own. The sweater part of this set is shown in the foreground in this preview.
The felted cloche adorned with roses (#20B, pattern page 99) is so cute! The other one is pretty good, but I like the shaping on this one better. The one I like is shown in the top-right corner here.
