They’re done! And just in time for the 6Sox deadline! : )
I didn’t spend much time on these socks for most of July for two reasons. I was so busy and tired from work, I needed “faster” projects (using thicker, worsted weight yarns). And I stalled on the swirling pattern. Last weekend, I picked them up again, and had no problems with the swirl. In fact, I liked it so much I changed the second sock to swirl the other way!

I’ve yet another work-filled week in the works. Yesterday I was so tired I didn’t think I could even *gasp* knit… but after a delicious meal of farmer-market-fresh veggies, I felt better and did start a hat cuff. Today I’m pretty tired again, so I won’t do the planned SRP update.
I noticed a few weeks ago that Knit Picks no longer has the wishlist feature. I hope it’s just temporary.
I tried the new Stonyfield Light yogurt yesterday. It was good; I noticed that the amount of the fruit-on-bottom was smaller, so the color after you stir the yogurt was paler, and tasted just a tad less sweet. Today, I had vanilla yogurt made with water buffalo milk (I keep wanting to say white buffalo…). It was thick and custard-like, and stayed firm and didn’t drip off my spoon even after stirring. It was not very sweet and the vanilla flavor was not strong at all; very nice. I think lemon flavor with this yogurt would be good, too.
I haven’t had any chance to read blogs in nearly two weeks now, eek!
This past weekend, I got some of these new Avon Instant Manicure nailcolors from Mom.

During the past week, I finished the toes and insteps on the Color Blox Sox for 6Sox. I haven’t taken a real progress picture yet because it’s all stockinette. I did finish the heels last night, and they look great and fit very well, yay! I enjoyed this type of toe-up heel-flap-gusset construction. It seemed to go faster than the traditional cuff-down heel-flap-gussets (which always seem to take me forever). The Potluck Jewels (from my SP8, thanks!) I’m using for these socks look great knitted up.

I’ve been busy at work (ick, they asked me at the very last minute to work for the rest of the week when I had thought I would be off). I’ve been too tired to blog when I get home, but I do have pictures and posts to share. I’ll get started on these catch-up posts tomorrow. I have about half of my book holder reviews written out, too; I want to finish them up this weekend for a last proofread before I post them.
Busy, busy. But for tonight, I’m gonna relax, knit, and maybe read! : )

Now that my deadline knitting has completed, I should’ve returned to my other WIPs, like the Color Blox Sox, Rock and Weave socks, or the Cropped Cardi. But I didn’t.
Faced with a sort-of deadline for August, I dug out the Lion Brand Wool I bought earlier this year and started a stranded two-color swatch. I’ve done Intarsia before, but not Stranded or Fair-Isle, because I hadn’t been very interested in most of the projects I’ve seen. Saturday night, I went at it to see how I would do. Here’s my first swatch:
