Rowan’s website does not have any samples for this issue, but The Knitting Garden has some previews and pattern information on this page.
Rosebud is a really sweet vintagey cardi with both intarsia and lace details. I’d like this a bit shorter so I can wear it without the belt. Design #24 page 120, picture page 4.
The Timeless cardi looks interesting (and also vintage-inspired), but there’s no close-up of the details, and I can’t be positive that I would like it. Apparently it’s beaded. Design #4 page 84, picture page 6.
Another cardi with, you got it, a vintage feel, is Rapunzel. (Did you notice the front lengths don’t match up quite perfectly in the picture, hmm.) treschicVeronique made one, very pretty. Design #1 page 78, picture page 7.
Moonlight is a really simple cardi with just enough details (reverse stockinette combined with stockinette, etc) to give it visual interest. This should be an easy project; great warm, comfy sweater-jacket for everyday use. Design #8 page 91, picture page 48.
Stone Argyll would make a great guy’s sweater (but you might have to find one who isn’t afraid of wearing colors). Design #19 page 112, picture page 50.
I kinda dig the Ava cardi, too. Not 100% positive about the chained intarsia detail, or the laced up front. Also available kidsized. Design #13 page 99, picture page 69.
Other interesting stuff in this issue: Preview samples of Kaffe Fasset’s Pattern Sourcebook. Some Miss Bea kidwear (preview feature for Louisa Harding pattern books).
