Not Math Smart
Madder Ribbed Update: I’m experiencing that sneaking feeling that I will be frogging these. I’m keeping them in their travel bag for a couple more days until I take a good look and make my decision.
A few days ago I said I was going to take a break from socks… at the time I typed that, I was thinking it wouldn’t be until early-mid-May before I started a new pair. Photographing the Sixth Sense Socks, especailly the toes, changed that. Suddenly I was craving knitting socks toe-up, which I hadn’t done for quite a while. I also had another craving… I really wanted to use DPNs instead of circulars.
Only one small thing held me back from starting… I wasn’t sure I wanted to commit to normal-size socks just yet. The impeding frogging of the Madder Ribbed socks reminded me of the lone Lorna’s Laces skein I had leftover from another frogged sock project in 2004. Perfect… a pair of Sockettes!
I “completed” the first toe on Sunday night, easy peasy. But then I got confused about how many was HALF of 72. D’oh! But I fianlly got myself sorted out and started the second toe last night and finished it this morning. I’ve been working on the foot/instep since then, while watching old episodes of The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. I have about 1.25 inches to go before switching back to Sock One and kntting another instep. Tonight there are new episodes of Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, so I should meet my goal of starting the second instep. : )
